No Ideology

To start with: I provide information. I.M. INFORMATION MATTERS. That`s it.

Basicaly on inflammatory bowel disease, IBD

It is my determined goal and my highest priority , to pass on usefull information to you. To communicate with you. About your issues, about the contex of your disease, about what is possible and necessary.

(And to encourage you right away : do ask your questions. Visit the members area and ask your question via Email.)

I continue to learn every single day. What I learned at medical school 20 to 15 years ago  is partially just not true anymore. The concepts I worked with during my fist years as a doctor are outdated.

I am a European conventional medical doctor – Conventional medicine is what I practice. That does not mean that I do not look left or right. It is important for understanding my approach in this blog :

No ideology!

Again and again I recognize, that when it comes to approaches on therapies, to the issue of healing in general : some people have a black-and-white point of view.

Example: “conventional medicine is the only way to practice, everything else is quackery  and people who practice it are charlatans.”

And from the other perspective: “conventional medicine is bad for the patients. Poor ones, all poisoned by bad chemistry and medicine. Only repairs the damage, no solution for the real reason of the disease. How can one possibly do that? Impossible to gain health that way.”

I said it before : I am a conventional medical doctor. An internship on a ward in Bamberg where conventional and evidence based alternative medicine are offered in combination to the patients has opened my horizon in just a couple of weeks. And it has encouraged and assured me that  you should always try to see the whole picture with every aspect of patients life. And I keep on going, looking left and right.

I do write without ideology. But certainly on the basis of my experience. Which is a result of what I do for years each and every day, each week, each month : treat patients with IBD. And that is what I learn and keep current on professional training, congresses and internships.

That´s how you will find the information on inflammatory bowel disease, IBD here : no ideology. INFORMATION MATTERS.

Watch your eyes…EIM of the eyes in IBD

The eyes … no matter how you look at it, it is hard to imagine that they could have anything to do with the intestine. Those are rare but important. manifestations of IBD – we all should have them in mind since it regards your eye sight….

Relax…!

Relax ! I hand this to you not as a phrase but rather as a … recommendation !
Because there are possibilities to actively relax. And since everybody knows, how stress does affect you – it is reasonable to actively relax. And it is so simple that it is almost ridiculous (… and I personally wonder why this is not taught and practiced in schools and preschools already). The way – or let me say: one way – because as always there are different ways of doing it – a really simple, appropriate and goal-orientated way to relaxation is the one that leads over – your breath. Simple as that.

The microbiom – it makes a difference …

Stress has a strong influence on the intestine. It has an influence on the microbiome. And the microbiome …? – is influenced by nutrition. And also with the limitation that your microbiome is different from the microbiome of people without IBD … what you eat makes a differnce !
